I had the absolute pleasure of working on this wonderful production!! Between the months of July 2019 and October 2019, I was the Costume Designer for the Denizen Theatre's production of Sender by Ike Holter. This was an experience filled with so much love, respect, fun, and learning. The Denizen is a wonderful theatre located in the Hudson Valley. It is a place of amazing creators who come together. The role of the Costume Designer for a play is to visually help bring to life the characters and the world of the play from the playwright’s words to the stage. This requires research, mood boards, notes, sketches, shopping, fittings, more sketches, more research, fittings, notes... It is a vigorous but wonderful journey of discovering who exactly these characters are and what this play is really about. And I enjoy every second of it! The entirety of this journey working on this production was not only exciting but by far one of my favorite experiences in my twenty-two years. Not only did I have a blast working with this amazing cast and crew but I learned more than I could have imagined. I worked alongside a wonderful group of former classmates, working professionals from other areas, and even my former professor! I am immensely grateful to have had this experience and each moment of it is precious to me.
